What people ask before signing up.
Why only Facebook? We’re on Instagram and Nextdoor too.
Because Facebook is still where local government reaches the most residents — it remains the highest-reach channel for the overwhelming majority of U.S. cities and counties. We’d rather do one channel deeply and accurately — every post, every peer, measured the same way — than give you a shallow multi-channel average that hides what’s actually working. More channels are on the roadmap; Facebook is where the benchmarking value is densest today.
$50/month seems low. What’s the catch?
No catch. GovFeeds is affordable because it’s a focused, single-purpose tool with an automated data pipeline and a self-serve sign-up — we don’t carry the cost of an enterprise sales team or a sprawling platform, so we don’t pass that cost to you. The enterprise civic platforms charge five figures because they’re selling you everything. We sell you one thing — peer benchmarking — and do it well.
What is GovFeeds not?
GovFeeds is a benchmarking and research tool. It is not a posting/scheduling tool, not a social-media archiving or records-retention product, and not a resident-survey platform. If you need to publish posts, archive for FOIA, or run community surveys, those are different tools. If you need to know how your engagement compares to real peer governments, that’s us.
Who is it for?
Local-government communications staff — PIOs, communications managers, social-media coordinators — and the town and county managers they report to. If you run or oversee a city/county Facebook presence and have ever been asked “how do we compare?”, GovFeeds is built for you.
Where does the data come from?
From public Facebook posts published by U.S. city and county government accounts — the same posts any resident can see. We collect and measure them consistently across 5,000+ accounts and refresh daily, so comparisons are apples-to-apples. GovFeeds is a research and analytics product; it doesn’t access private data.
Can I cancel anytime?
Yes. Monthly is month-to-month with no contract — cancel whenever. The 14-day trial requires no credit card, so it simply ends unless you choose to subscribe.
Do you offer custom reports?
Yes — subscribers can request a custom monthly report comparing the Facebook accounts they choose against the peers they choose. Many teams drop it straight into their monthly comms update to leadership or council.
Can I expense it / is there a PO option?
At $50/month it usually fits a PIO’s discretionary budget — no RFP or procurement cycle required, which is part of the point. If your jurisdiction needs an invoice or annual PO for the $500/year plan, email bruce@publicsquareanalytics.com and we’ll sort it out.

Fourteen days, full search and benchmarking, no credit card. If it doesn’t make your next council update easier, walk away.
